John Kershaw, (1792-1870), a close friend of William Gadsby, was pastor at Hope Chapel, Rochdale for half a century. His preaching was very simple; he spoke from the heart to the heart. The trumpet gave no uncertain sound as he clearly set forth the doctrines of free and sovereign grace, insisting on a gracious experience of the truth. Edited by B. A. Ramsbottom with a short biography.
