A sermon preached on Christmas Day, 1829, in “the Great Church” at Abingdon, on the occasion of the appointment of the Master and Governors of Christ’s Hospital in that town. His text was taken from Matthew 1:21 – “She shall bring forth a Son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus; for he shall save his people from their sins.”
